SYNOPSIS

One night in the bush outside of Darwin, a young man named Thomas White witnesses an unexplained phenomena in the sky. His experience  coincides with a sighting of a UFO in the local newspaper the following day leading him to wonder if his experience was alien in origin.

When a UFO convention is held in the city Thomas meets a multitude of characters whose wildly divergent theories cause him to question his grip on reality.  Thomas is drawn into the charismatic gravity of a UFO guru named Xavier who claims to channel an alien consciousness.

Will Thomas find the truth or will he discover that truth is indeed stranger than science fiction.

Set in contemporary Australian society amidst indigenous intervention, refugee xenophobia and ecological invasive species, A Stray Alien explores our science fiction fascination with the alien other in the context of post-colonialism and contemporary multicultural society.
